First Impressions: Affairs Valentino

If you want a fully researched, well documented, and accurate biography of former superstar Rudolph Valentino which reveals groundbreaking discoveries about his life, then you owe it to yourself to read Evelyn Zumaya’s Affairs Valentino – a volume covering not only the actor’s life, but his afterlife as well.

Although we have written previously on the major findings of the author’s research, we are taking a second round with the screen legend’s life and legacy after finally obtaining and reading a rare copy of her book.
We should like to dispense quickly with remarks about the book’s format and literary deportment by first stating that it is written in an engaging style facilitated by a technique which may leave it open to undue criticism – a point we will address momentarily.

The book is a large 8 ½” x 11” paperback volume with lean production values. The text is double spaced as one would expect in a term paper, but this format makes reading a breeze. It is also illustrated with rare photos – and some not so rare – which add interest to the narrative.

The book sadly lacks an index and footnotes - in spite of its rich bibliography, the former omission hardly explainable in the days of electronic word processors. The text is speckled with grammatical, lexical, and typographical errors which should be cleansed in a second edition.

Returning to our point of narrative style, the author has chosen to use dramatizations to vivify the story, a technique which may make it appealing to a popular audience, but one which will not endear it to establishment historians and academics. All of which is unfortunate because the substance of this scholarly triumph makes it worth every penny this out of print book may cost.

Aside from some of these rather pedantic remarks, we must admit that the author is a very capable writer who has selected a fluent style which makes the book a rapid read. She alternates between history of Valentino’s life, and the very complicated aftermath left in the wake of his death – complications which extend to the present time.

Valentino is probably an easy character for many people to like if for no other reason than he was rich, famous, and good looking. On the other hand, once you look past the glitz, you see a highly flawed man whose life swung out of control and flamed out at a very young age.

A teenaged Valentino arrived in America 2 days before Christmas 1913 on the USS Cleveland at the instigation of his family who, for all practical purposes, disowned him for youthful indiscretions which brought shame to his very traditional southern Italian Catholic family.

Although lacking absolute proof, Zumaya speculates, with reasonable evidence which she presents in her book, that Valentino had a fling with an older Italian woman resulting in a pregnancy which embarrassed the family. The solution was to send young Rudolph into the cold to America where a padrino, Frank Menillo, awaited to sponsor him in his new country – in the vortex of America’s melting pot – New York City. Frank would come many times to Rudy’s aid to pry him loose from some sticky predicament – often of a financial nature.

The child would be given to his brother Alberto for rearing, a responsibility we believe he resented.

With limited education, Valentino scraped by with dancing jobs which put him in high society and in bed with another man’s wife. Escaping that melee, Valentino eventually wound up in California where he spent a few years as a starving actor before making his big break in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse under the tutelage of June Mathis, a major screenwriter of the day.
Along the way, he married an actress, Jean Acker, who refused to consummate their marriage. Although no conclusive evidence is rendered, the best explanation is that she was a lesbian who rashly entered into the marriage under outside pressures. Other legal documents indicate she had a physical condition preventing sexual relations, but she lived with her companion Chloe Carter for most of her life.

It did not take long for the emotionally wounded Valentino to find solace in Natacha Rambova, a stepdaughter of a wealthy businessman who maintained many residences worldwide, including one on the French Riviera and San Francisco’s Nob Hill – facts unknown to Valentino until well into their affair.
Although they met in a torrent of love and lust, their marriage would end 3 years later in a torrent of hate and anger. She was an avant-garde, bohemian free spirit who wanted to share professionally in Valentino’s career, but who in the end was shut out.

It is perhaps this controlling feature which secured the wedge between them, but in the final analysis, it seems that Natacha loved Natacha rather than her husband. Through the use of detectives, Rudy caught her carrying on with a cameraman, a discovery which broke the camel’s back of their unraveling marriage. Any complaints from Valentino on this score would probably resemble the pot calling the kettle black, but what hurt Valentino the most was his wife’s refusal to bear him children. She allegedly had 3 or 4 abortions, a matter which caused Valentino considerable pain, making reconciliation impossible.
Valentino’s career zoomed upward after The Shiek which made him the first cinematic global superstar – a fame he retained even during his walkout on The Famous Players-Lasky which lasted into 1923. His astute business manager, George Ullman, kept him afloat financially by taking him on tour to promote Mineralava beauty cream. Ullman was hired on the advice of Valentino’s closest advisor – Black Foot – a demon he conjured up in one of his daily trances and automatic writing sessions.

Ullman forms an important part of the story – especially after Valentino’s death. The two men became fast friends with Ullman constantly performing a 7 ball juggling act to keep his boss solvent. Valentino was accustomed to high living from his first steps on American soil – even though he spent some very  lean years with Natacha in a cramped bungalow with an odd assortment of animals he picked up from the studio.
In his final 18 months – especially after his divorce from Natacha – Valentino's boozing, womanizing, and smoking took its toll – to the point where Valentino was a certified alcoholic. It is possible that his alcoholism finally undid him when he died of acute perforated ulcers – a condition insufficiently treatable at the time.

The disintegration of Valentino before his friend and business manager’s eyes was a painful sight, a sight Ullman craftily hid from the public - along with Rudy's many other indiscretions.
When Valentino died unexpectedly, the task of burial and estate executor fell upon Ullman, as Valentino had wished it in his will, but a task made enormously more complicated by one of the dishonest men he kept on his sizeable household staff.

We find that his handyman, Lou Mahoney, a corrupt former New York City cop, tore out a page of Valentino’s will which left the estate to his ostensible nephew Jean. We learn along the way that Jean was most likely his son from his affair in Italy which caused his family to exile him to America. The will stipulated that George would be the executor of the estate and continue to run Rudolph Valentino Productions in the event of his death.
This chicanery by Mahoney created a series of interminable legal battles between Rudy’s brother Alberto and Ullman. George only knew about the unamended will which named Alberto, his sister Maria, and his former wife’s Aunt Teresa as heirs. The amendment stated that these persons would only receive a monthly stipend until Jean reached the age of 25. Oh, and Natacha would receive a one dollar bill.

George mistakenly advanced disbursements to the presumed heirs from the estate for which an appeals court would find him liable some years later after a copy of the missing page turned up in the divorce attorney’s files and was submitted to the court. This ruling, even after George had rehabilitated the estate's finances to the point where he paid off all of Valentino’s staggering 300,000 USD debt, and built equity to 300,000 USD at the onset of the depression. The greed of Alberto would undo all of this heroic accomplishment.
These legal battles ruined George financially but eventually vindicated him against charges of incompetence, embezzlement, or fraud in an appeals court's stinging rebuke of the lower probate court’s decisions. Alberto was a sleaze of the first order whose first question to George when he walked the plank off the boat for his brother’s burial was, “How big is the estate?”

The battle lines were drawn with the Valentino family bitterly opposed to George. Jean inherited this animosity especially when the depleted estate left him with precious little except for intellectual property which he used to "extort" large sums of money in his life as a semi-professional litigant. Jean finally relinquished George from the staggering debt he owed him by court decree 30 years after his father’s death.
Prior to that, the story took an even more fascinating twist. Famous Hollywood producer and executive William Self formed a fake friendship with George in order to swindle him out of the few Valentino memorabilia he managed to salvage from the Valentino estate.

Self, a very well to do executive living in exclusive Bel Air, would later steal George’s few remaining mementos which he kept in his garage, even after George had naively given him one of them each year for his birthday under the assumption that Self would safeguard them. In reality, he was passing them along (for sale) to Jean, or trading them with a person whom Zumaya identifies as the Evanston collector.
Self – it appears – stole the probate court records exonerating George from the County Courthouse in Los Angeles and sold them to the Evanston collector. Self, who also had an intense interest in Frank Baum, creator of the Wizard of Oz, also apparently stole Baum’s probate records. If these accusations can be proven, it makes Self a felon and I believe that they could be proven.

Although Zumaya mercifully spares us psychologizing about Valentino, I am not so generous. Valentino was a self indulgent, irresponsible, reckless spendthrift who luxuriated in the finest things money could buy. But at the same time he could be quite generous as the author documents. He enjoyed life, spent beyond his means, but I think in the end he wanted to transcend his materialistic morass.
By transcending, I believe that he wanted a family – a wife and kids. His two failed attempts to acquire these elusive possessions sent him into a depression from which he never recovered, and whose pain he medicated with liquor and 100 Turkish black tobacco cigarettes per day. The refusal of the fascist Italian courts to grant adoption of his son Jean probably sealed Rudy’s fate.

Zumaya has faced viciously barbaric opposition to her work, which has compelled her to cease publication of this fine book. This is a disastrous pity for she has done more than any other researcher to advance our understanding of this fascinating screen legend.
If you find her book, buy it and don’t flinch at the price. It tells a story worthy of any Hollywood scandal.

First Impressions: Enemy of the Truth

Sophisticated crime investigation forensics has finally caught up with the threadbare lies used to deceive Americans about the murder of John F Kennedy in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963. Sherry Fiester’s latest book, Enemy of the Truth, steps us through the somewhat arcane field of forensics to reveal the truth about the crime scene.
If you are a fan of the CSI crime scene investigations shows, you will be right at home with Ms Fiester who is herself a Certified Senior Crime Scene Investigator who is also certified in about 50 state and federal judicial jurisdictions as an expert witness in forensics matters, including blood spatter analysis. Now retired from police work, she has devoted her time to exploring the forensic evidence of the Kennedy assassination.

Before discussing the content of the book, we must expose some of the weaknesses in the present volume. Although its prose is competent at best, its editing is subpar for a work of this quality which is college level material in any sense of the term. Numerous typographical, grammatical, and lexical errors abound throughout the book, making comprehension at times a bit of a challenge.
On the other hand, we elevate substance over form and cannot in any way allow these denigrations to deter us from seeking the truth and advancing our understanding of the crime of the century. To that end, this book is unparalleled and is deserving of the fullest attention, especially since Lyndon Johnson shut down the investigation in Dallas the evening of his first day in office.

Warren Commission Report fans will find very little of comfort in Fiester’s book as she shreds nearly every shibboleth of the Lone Nut community to kingdom come. But, while we are on the subject of Johnson, his contempt of the report is legendary – for some rather obvious reasons which we will not develop here.
Enemy of the Truth contains a series of essays organized by chapter which largely stand on their own. Yes the author refers to material presented in previous chapters but she nonetheless repeats it so that full detail of the previously treated subject is not required in its present application. One subject receiving considerable repetition is blood spatter analysis of which the author is an authority as we noted above.

The chief conclusion of the book -  though not necessarily its thesis – is that President Kennedy’s fatal head shot – one captured so eloquently by the Zapruder film especially – was fired from the front from the triple over/under pass. Blood spatter analysis and wound ballistics devastate the case of a fatal shot coming from the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD).
That facility, by the way, is a hysterical joke with its fake museum fooling passive people into believing that Oswald created a sniper’s nest on the 6th floor – again, a subject of another post.

Fiester waylays many cherished myths of the establishment as well as of the conspiracy community as she follows the evidence where it leads regardless of the philosophical preference she or others may hold.
The Zapruder film has been the subject of charges of alteration due largely to the blood spatter and body motion of Kennedy at the moment of the assassination. Fiester shows that modern blood spatter analysis – a veritable science – demonstrates that the effluents coming from Kennedy are authentic and the result of a front shot. Forgers would have needed to possess knowledge about blood spatter science which simply was not available prior to 1975 when the film was first publicly aired.

While none of the assassination films shows the presidential limousine stopping, many witnesses swore to the fact that it did. We even adopted that position in a previous blog, but have since divested ourselves of the notion based upon better evidence and explanation. Fiester delves into some specialized theory and science to explain the phenomenon of the witnesses' empirical perceptions to show the stress of the moment led to time dilation which in turn gave the appearance of the stopping vehicle.
None  of this exonerates the Secret Service in any way as Fiester later reports analysis from a study sponsored by  House Select Committee on Assassinations which showed that the vehicle indeed slowed from about 12 mph to 8 mph just prior to the head shot.
One of the highlights of the book uses ballistic wounds, math, and physics to triangulate the location of the shooter. This evidence is used to disabuse us of the Grassy Knoll theory. While the author does not claim that no shots were fired from behind the fence – and indeed there is an abundance of witness to weapons fire from the parking lot behind the knoll – she does claim that the fatal head wound could not have come from the famed grassy knoll.
We have skimmed just a fraction of the information and analysis found in this fabulous and long overdue book, so readers will have to obtain a copy to get the full monty as they say. We are delighted that the lone nut theory has been wasted with the devastation it so justly deserves.
We have seen the release of a near avalanche of first rate books over the past 2 years which demonstrates with court quality evidence the fact that Kennedy was killed by skilled and powerful assassins whose authority for the murder came deep within the Military Industrial Complex – a complex which includes the Bush Crime Syndicate and Rockefeller Axis of Evil.
The time for debating whether Oswald or a kook killed Kennedy is long past. The real work of tying  to the crime the most likely suspects may begin in earnest.

Bombshells in Dallas: Miscellaneous News from November in Dallas

Just when we thought we had uncovered the most important clues in the murder of President John Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza by the Rockefeller Crime Syndicate, new ones keep popping up like weeds. A case in point is the role of the Texas School Book Depository as a decoy.
To be more explicit, there were no shooters in the TSBD. This revelation hit us like two tons of lead bricks when we first heard it from our correspondent who viewed a lecture by Barry Ernest, the author of The Girl on the Stairs, at the recent November in Dallas conference sponsored by JFK Lancer Publications which presents new discoveries in the JFK murder case to the public at its annual gathering.
Ernest found a critical witness to the Kennedy murder after years of on again off again searching. Although she appears in the Warren Commission Report, her testimony was falsified by the committee and FBI. When Victoria Adams told the FBI what she saw in the immediate aftermath of the shooting in front of where she worked, they severely intimidated her to change her story to match the fabrications they were weaving about Oswald.
When she refused to do so, the commission falsified her story. She has remained deathly quiet since then, not wanting to find an early grave as have so many other who knew too much or dared to utter the truth.
Adams worked in the accounting department of the TSBD along with 3 others on the fateful day in November. When Adams’ coworkers heard the shots, they ran down the stairs to see what the commotion was, while Adams’ was certain that the president had been mortally wounded.
Two of the co-workers went down the stairs while Adams and a colleague remained on the fourth floor where they worked. From this vantage they could see anyone who ascended or descended the stairs. The only two people they saw were police officer Baker and building manager Roy Truly.
This observation is extraordinarily important. It is important because the stairs in the TSBD did not run straight up from the first floor to the sixth. In order to get to another floor, a climber had to  stop on the fourth floor to transfer to another flight of stairs to go up or down. The fourth floor housing the accounting department was wide open with an unobstructed view of the stair wells.
The girls who went down did not see anyone go down or up – to say nothing of Oswald. The girls who remained on the 4th floor in the open area did not see anyone go up or down save for the two men just mentioned. The story completely contradicts the lies the Warren commission uttered about Oswald.
It also completely undoes our own understanding that CIA's assassins were manning the 5th floor to shoot at the president. The truth is that the TSBD was NOT an assassin’s lair as long believed by the public and told ceaselessly by the state controlled news media.
The CIA staged an elaborate hoax  on the 6th floor in order to frame Oswald. His handlers had maneuvered him into that job to create an association between Oswald and the TSBD. The 6th floor sniper’s nest was yet another delusion with which the CIA blinded the public.
And to think that there is a museum there to keep the public stupid is a farce which would give Joseph Goebells sheer delight.
But that’s not all. Lyndon Johnson was rolled under the bus earlier this year in yet another solution to the crime. This time LBJ was painted as the master mind who had the will, motive, and power to murder a president. As usual, the truth is more complicated than that.
Johnson was easily the most foul president until George Bush, Jr. He was a mass murderer who sent men to Vietnam for no reason other than to line the pockets of his plutocrat bosses. He ordered the sinking of the USS Liberty when it was attacked by Israeli forces. And he participated in the murder of his nominal boss.
Johnson was a small cog in the Rockefeller / Wall Street plan to stage a coup. He was greedy enough to want to be president and wicked enough to obtain it by murder. His scandals were on the verge of sending him to prison. So it was no small gift to be invited to help in the American coup of 1963.
Johnson worked closely with his protégé John Connally to plan Kennedy's trip to Dallas which would allow the plutocrats to murder the president. When Kennedy was assaulted, Connally yelled out, “They are going to kill both of us!” Jackie Kennedy told William Manchester this quote when he was preparing his history of the Kennedy years. However, the publishers would not allow the quote to be published. So they altered it to, “They are going to kill us all!”
This statement meant that Connally felt that he was being double crossed after all of the work he did to funnel Kennedy onto Elm Street at the right moment.
Not to be outdone, Johnson called the Dallas Police Department to inform it that it should stop its investigation of the Kennedy murder because it already had the guilty party – Lee Oswald.

One of the interesting casualties of the discovery about the TSBD is in connection with the Tegan Mathis book claiming to deconstruct Executive Prvilege by Lynne Cheney. In particular, the claim that Colin Powell was the sniper in the TSBD becomes more farcical than it already was. We believe that Mathis is due for an even steeper discount than we had given previously.
The Kennedy killing and its cover-up by the CIA operating on orders from the Rockefeller murderers is one of history’s most fascinating and darkest crimes. Satan is laughing with delight the day the music died.

First Impressions: The Star that Astonished the World

Since Humbug comes but once a year, we thought that we would take another excurses from our regularly scheduled programming to review a fascinating book providing the actual date and time of the birth of Jesus. The results may surprise you.

We suspect that most folks believe that December 25th is a surrogate for the real birth date of Jesus, whose actual birthday is lost in the sinking sands of time. However, that date has been rescued from obscurity by the indefatigable work of the late Dr Earnest Martin, a Biblical scholar of the first rank.
Martin uses a number of evidentiary sources to inform his conclusion that Jesus was born on September 11, 3 BC. In addition to the Biblical account, he relies upon secular histories, and most significantly, astronomy to reverse engineer the time of Jesus’ birth.
The Magi of the East, who provide the pomp and circumstance in modern religious interpretations of Christmas, were important persons who visited the future Jewish king in Bethlehem. They also point the modern scholar to the key to unlock the details of the birth of Christ.
While the popular imagination supposes three wise men, their actual number is unknown, although early sources suggest as many as 12 magi, in addition to their substantial entourages. These men were indeed important figures in the ancient world whose craft as star gazers was the right one – as we shall soon see - to anticipate the arrival of the new born king.
The importance of the wise men stems from the prestige they commanded in ancient times as counsellors to kings, and sometimes as king makers. Not only were they convinced that a king was to be born, but that he was so important as to justify a long, arduous journey from Parthia to Bethlehem  - the very definition of Podunk.
The Magi – from which we get magician – were powerful counselors to royalty whose stock in trade was soothsaying, a vocation which had a strong crossover to astronomy as astrology depends heavily upon celestial interpretations.
If one surveys the historical and religious literature,  one can find Jesus born in every month of the year and a wide span of years at least 10 wide. Most modern critical scholarship insists that Jesus was born prior to 4 BC due to a brief reference by Josephus concerning his birth. Given this plethora of opinion and material, one would think it nearly impossible to determine the year, let alone date and time of his birth.
With odds stacked so against the historian, December 25 seems as good a date as any other. What Martin discovers in his studies about the Magi is that they observed a star rising in the east which they eventually followed to Jerusalem and then to Bethlehem. From there, many of the other astronomical evidences fall into place.
Their arrival in Bethlehem occurred around the winter solstice whereupon they presented their costly gifts to Jesus on December 25. But Jesus had long left the manger and was no longer a babe – something deduced from Matthew’s account of the birth where the term used is παίδία – denoting a toddler or someone who passed the stage of babyhood.
Martin concludes December 25th as the meeting of the king and Magi from historical astronomy where he determines that Jupiter – the king planet – is at a relative point of inflexion where it appears to stand still due to the reversal from proper motion to retrogression consequent to the relative motions of the earth and Jupiter. Hence the “star” appears to be stationary to those of us on earth much as Matthew described.
The Magi, with their interest in celestial phenomena, are an excellent point of departure for the heavy lifting Martin does with the astronomical sign given by John in the book of Revelation, specifically 12:1-5.
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Although theologians are frequently found interpreting this passage as a reference to Mary, or allegorically to Israel, Martin sees it as a reference to the constellation Virgo, who assumed the persona of Ruth in the Hebrew zodiac. She later became the reference for Mary as the virgin mother of Jesus.
More intriguingly, he interprets the covering by the sun as a reference to its position in the middle of Virgo, and the moon under her feet as the position of the new moon relative to the constellation. Given the positions of the planets and stars, and working backward with historical astronomies provided by world class astronomers, Martin deduces that Jesus was born on September 11, 3 BC between the time of 6:15p and 7:45p.
More surprising is the discovery that this day was Rosh Hashanah, the commencement of the Jewish secular new year – also known biblically as the Feast of Trumpets. Martin proceeds to explain the significance of this date  - a fascinating subject we leave to the interested reader.
But astronomy is not the only tool in Martin’s bag. He relies upon secular and religious histories to help box the time of the divine birth. The reign year of Tiberius given in the gospels coincides with Jesus’ age given by Luke as does the story of the census about which Martin spends considerable time.
The census is well attested historically as occurring in 3 BC due to the once recent discoveries about it. The census was proclaimed in advance of Augustus' proclamation as Pater Patriae – a supreme dignity bestowed by the Senate. The census also entailed an oath of obedience to Ceasar.
Other events framing the time of birth include Herod’s death – a subject of considerable dispute which can now be resolved conclusively. In addition, Martin uses the schedule of Jewish priestly courses, the conception of John the Baptist, and the dumbfounding of his father Zechariah the priest by the angel who admonished him for his unbelief in the birth of his son.
Finally, Martin is not remiss in acknowledging the scholarly legacy by many of the early church fathers who are nearly unamimous in their views that Jesus was born between 3 – 1 BC.
We have only skimmed the surface of material covered by Martin, and so urge our dear readers to read the book online if so intrigued. There is material for both the religiously and historically minded student.

Did Nuclear Weapons Destroy the World Trade Towers?

The official story explaining the collapse of the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001 in lower Manhattan relies upon the fire and pancake theory of destruction. But more persuasive evidence indicates that the Bush Crime Syndicate used nuclear explosives to demolish the towers.

The fire and pancake theory is the modernized version of the Single Bullet Theory – a concoction so ludicrous that people believe it – just as Joseph Goebbels said they would. The explanation basically says that two jetliners crashing into buildings 1 and 2 ignited into balls of fire which  spawned secondary fires and vibrations which were sufficient to start a cascade of collapsing floors in building 2 after 56 minutes of burning with Building 1 falling a few minutes later.

If you aren’t rolling on the floor laughing your back ends off, you could possibly be outwitted by a philodendron. The explanation put forth by the newsfakers and government officials is as much rubbish as the debris hauled away from Ground Zero. In fact, no airplane hit either building, but that is a topic for another post.

We used to think that nano-thermite was responsible for the controlled demolitions which destroyed Buildings 1, 2, and 7, but evidence presented by Jim Marrs in his excellent tome, The Terror Conspiracy Revisited, demonstrates that the explosions were much more complex than mere high-technology nano-thermite.

This is not to say that the explosive was not used. Indeed it was, as superb evidence presented in The Open Chemical Physics Journal showed. The article “Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe,” demonstrates that the substance and its byproducts were found in prodigious quantities at and near the site.

In fact, nano-thermite dust was found in apartments blocks away from the trade towers. Nano-thermite is a very sophisticated explosive developed by the US government at its advanced Sandia Labs about a year before their usage on the World Trade Center.

However, the evidence from the crime scene is not fully explained by this explosive. Other improbabilities abound which require the introduction of more sophisticated weapons – including those of mass destruction.

The basic problem with the official explanation is that the steel of the towers was capable of withstanding intense fires at temperatures around 3000 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 5 hours, yet both buildings 1 and 2 collapsed within 75 minutes of the projectiles’ collisions with the buildings.

Consequently, intelligent minds must seek other explanations than airplane fuel and secondary fires as the causes of the collapses. Further investigation also reveals other facts and anomalies which fire and pancakes cannot explain.

The buildings fell onto their own footprints within 8-10 seconds maximum – a speed requiring free fall – not pancake kenetics. This descent would only be possible with the sudden removal of structural support in an instant – just as in ca ontrolled demolition.

Many witnesses heard ear drum shattering explosions unlike any they had experienced before – among whose number were fire fighters and those with military experience. Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, NY recorded seismic shocks registering 2.1 and 2.3 magnitude which is the action of a small earthquake. Airplanes and pancaking buildings do not provide that kind of disturbance – especially at the beginning of the controlled descent or moment of impact.

Another fascinating fact is that engineers estimated the weight of the 2 main buildings at 3.6 billion tons, yet only 1.6 million tons of debris were removed from the buildings' site according to the NYC Department of Santitation. Where did the other 3.4 billion tons of building go?

The only plausible explanation is that they were pulverized into dust and debris as the nano-thermite and nuclear devices buried along the structural supports exploded. Yes, nuclear devices were used to destroy the World Trade Center towers – buildings 1 and 2 at least.

The evidence for this mode of destruction includes melted parking meters blocks away from the towers, molten steel found weeks after the attacks, the rabid efforts by the government to keep media and public from Ground Zero, mid-air disintegration of steel beams, the complete disappearance of human bodies, fused materials, evidence of vaporized steel, and the widespread occurrence of cancerous malignancies suffered by first responders and workers who visited the site – even if only briefly.

Many of our dull witted friends must be saying, “My God, those al qaeda guys had some advanced weapons.” That argument would be a beguiling truth – a half one clever enough to fool the sucker born every minute. We do not mean to demean those who believed the filthy lies of the Bush Crime Syndicate – we too thought that Saddam Hussein should be brought to justice in the immediate aftermath of the attacks.

However, the evidence points in an entirely different direction. Marrs and others have reported on so much more than the explosions, leaving a rich set of finger prints to identify the culprits. Al Qaeda is indeed a network of terrorists, but they work for the BCS’ CIA. Al Qaeda is a loosely banded army of mercenaries who do the CIA’s dirty work. They truly hate America just as the BCS and Rockefeller Axis of Evil do.

But the biggest problem with 9/11 is its enormity and myriad moving parts – something which only very sophisticated people with full access to power could manipulate – perhaps the most important levers to be manipulated being those of the state controlled corporate media. This project is not something which a rag tag outfit of mal-contents could pull off, let alone cover-up.

For those who have an ear to hear and eyes to see, it is evident as high noon that only forces with great power could have pulled off the crime of the century – men such as George Bush, Jr., George Bush, Sr., Marvin Bush, Wirt Walker III, Nick Rockefeller, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Robert Gates, and others with depraved minds who could murder for sport and even more power.

Coup d'Etat in Dealey Plaza

The murder of President John Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza marked the most important event in American history since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. A cabal of murderers brutally ended the experiment in freedom and self government which began nobly on July 4th of that momentous year.

The stupendous efforts of independent researchers have completely over turned the acres of lies spread from the moment of the assassination by establishment figures in the media, government, and academia. Had we relied on professional historians to uncover the truths of Dealy Plaza, we would have been as the darkened inhabitants of Western Europe after the fall of the Roman empire who lived brutal and ignorant lives for centuries while waiting for the light of knowledge and civilization.

President Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex with great prescience, hardly imagining that less than 3 years later that this monster would come out of hiding to murder a duly elected president at high noon with brazen disregard for decency, let alone the law.

Such is the hatred of men whose power is challenged by equals. Wealth breeds a sense of entitlement, autocracy – if not brazen arrogance. Such was the nature of the men who killed Kennedy in Dallas.

What are the fruits of the researchers who have sucked the truth out of barren rocks, mined vain veins, and plumbed vasty depths to find the facts and the story of the murder of the millennium? We have a cornucopia of knowledge to piece together the crime, along with names and motives.

There is still more to be discovered but we know enough to discard as an infantile lie the preposterous notion that a lone, psychologically imbalanced man could have killed the president of the United States. The evidence fabricated by the Warren Commission and its sponsors isn’t enough to bring a grand jury indictment, let alone a court conviction – a scenario the murderers cleverly avoided by conducting a kangaroo investigation of the murder by the Executive branch – some of whose members were the murderers and accomplices to murder they were charged with investigating.

We know that Kennedy, no angel indeed, earned the wrath of many men who formed a coalition of the willing to murder him - in part for sport. These men came from Wall Street primarily, but had willing sycophants at the highest levels of military leadership, in powerful government posts, and influential positions in the news organization who propagated lie after damnable lie.

Policies which earned their wraths ranged from withdrawal from Viet Nam, modifications to the oil depletion allowance, the handling of the Steel strike, the Bay of Pigs failure, limits on CIA power, détente with Cuba and the USSR, and disapproval of Kennedy’s personal affairs.

The order to murder the president issued from the most powerful families in the country, with the Rockefeller brothers leading the cabal of hyenas. They had an able executive arm led by Prescott Bush and his future president son who marshaled the powers of government to plan, execute, and cover-up the murder.

The CIA had many men who could commit the deed with surgical precision and a conscience seared by greed and hatred. Allen Dulles served as a faithful master in these tasks and most importantly in covering up the crime with the greatest snow job since Studio 54 rollicked to disco and drugs in the 1970s – and yes I have used an anachronism.

With the Secret Service fully suborned into the murder, the president was literally a sitting duck stalled in a firestorm of bullets which rang out 360 degrees around Dealy Plaza. An assassin in the 5th (yes, 5th) floor window of the Texas School Book depository shot the president in the back, a sniper behind the fence of the grassy knoll shot the president in the neck, and an assassin by the railroad underpass delivered the bullet which sent Kennedy’s skull flying backward.

The Zapruder film documents this sequence nicely – a film which the murderers planned so that they could relive the moment many times, conduct after action reports and debriefings, and most importantly, to know what lies were required to bamboozle a foolish public.

The official autopsy was faked by corrupt doctors while a gloating General Curtis LeMay looked on with contempt at the president’s corpse. To this day we do not know where Kennedy’s brain is, if not in a carefully protected jar within the Bush estate.

The CIA has and continues to spend billions to murder witnesses, spread lies about the crime, keeping it out of court, and to disrupt any honest efforts to find the facts and truth of the story of their criminal deeds.

A crime of this magnitude requires great wealth, human resources, and prodigious planning. Only the wealthy and powerful could orchestrate such an elaborate crime. Only the men of Wall Street, such as the Rockefellers, Harrimans, Bundys, and others of their sinister ilk, could move the ponderous levers of government to incubate, plan, execute, and cover-up a murder so grand as to make Adolph Hitler blush with envy.

The murder of President John F Kennedy was not the work of a crazed loony, let alone one of them. It was the purposeful, malicious, heinous act of a powerful clique of men who hate America and despise those who challenge its preeminence.

The facts and resources are abundant and overwhelming in establishing the murderers, motives, and methods used to replace the sitting president with factotums of their own choosing. When Johnson took the oath of President, he began the reign of Caesars behind whose throne the real powers pulled the strings. May God bring forth justice out of iniquity.

Smashing Myths About Rudolph Valentino

Once America’s heart-throb, Rudolph Valentino (1895 – 1926) has vanished into the mysts of time, leaving many followers to recreate his legend, often without the benefit of fact. Some of these myths include his lack of posterity and his sexual orientation.

One author who has poured over 15 years into researching film legend Valentino is Evelyn Zumaya who published her magnum opus, Affairs Valentino, in 2011 only to see her book taken off the market due to a vicious legal attack against her publisher by a cabal of detractors who were indignant at her truthiness. The legal complications of fighting well financed opponents took its toll on the author's stamina, who requested a cessation to distribution.

However, there are still copies of the book floating around and the author has a website excerpting some of her findings which should be truly fascinating to the Valentino celebrity fan and film historian alike.

Valentino lived a rags to riches to rags life after arriving in America nearly penniless from Italy. He made his way into movies during the heyday of silent films, a time which included super stardom on a scale which usually eludes most actors. His fame created a cult which endured long after his sudden demise in 1926 from an infection due to complications from an operation to treat gastric ulcers he had experienced for several weeks prior to his death on August 23, 1926.
Many myths have attended his death but none of the salient ones have any foundation in fact. Some of the more salacious ones may have been encouraged by his manager and friend George Ullman who stooped to some rather tacky efforts to generate publicity for his dead friend in order to bring solvency to his estate which lay in shambles.
Ullman was appointed executor of Valentino’s estate which did not even have enough funds for his funeral, a service for which Ullman paid. Later, through clever, sometimes tasteless, and Herculean efforts, Ullman revived the fortunes of the estate, bringing its worth to around 3 million dollars within a few years of its subject's death. For all of this effort, one might think that the family would be grateful, but that was not to happen.
An incomplete will was used as the basis for liquidating Valentino’s estate, which stipulated that his brother, sister, and former wife were to inherit it. They took large advances against the estate prior to the discovery of a codicil added by Valentino shortly before his death stating that Jean (1914-1996), his alleged nephew, was to inherit the estate if he survived to age 25 – something which he did quite handily.
Unfortunately, this amendment did not see the light of day until 2 years after probate began and court decisions had been decreed. Zumaya pieces together a very plausible explanation of who did it – one of Valentino's employees who was a crooked ex-cop. In any event the judge ordered Ullman - not the erroneous heirs - to repay the estate - something which became impossible due to the collapse of Valentino enterprises by corrupt and incompetent court appointed receivers.
Why would Rudy leave his estate to his nephew? One could argue that he had a falling out with his brother, Alberto, and other next of kin, leaving him without any sympathies for them. However, that explanation overlooks the closeness of Valentino’s relationship with Jean and the striking resemblance between the two. It also overlooks statements by Valentino’s brother late in life in which he inadvertently revealed the truth about Jean.
Zumaya has pieced together evidence from papers and other previously unpublished and unacknowledged sources hypothesizing that Jean was actually Valentino’s son from a brief lusty affair he had with a woman in Italy. She speculates that Valentino brought great shame to the family by engaging in such passions which resulted in the pregnancy of this unknown woman. In order for his staunchly Catholic family to save face, they packed him off to America and left his brother Alberto to raise the boy.
During the height of his fame, Valentino returned to Europe in order to adopt his son, but the Italian courts could not see justification for returning him to Rudy.
The legal battles Ullman endured after discovery of the amendment to Valentino’s will bankrupted him – the product of a ham-fisted and rigid court – which in turn, and concomittant with the corrupt administration of the estate, left nothing for Jean when he came of age – a grievance he held against Ullman nearly until the former manager’s death.
One would think with all of the well known affairs and his offspring that rumors about Valentino being gay would be laughed out of the room, but psychological projection and insecurities are a powerful force as the publisher of Affairs Valentino discovered.
The history of the famous legend has at least 3 distinct periods with the first one ending c. 1960 and the second ending c. 2000. In the first period, Valentino is nostalgically and shallowly remembered for who he was with a great deal of myth and puff added to his fame. In the second period – the time of the great sexual revolution – Valentino’s sexuality, rather than his life, became of the subject of focus with many irresponsible and unsourced biographies published alleging that Valentino was possibly, and then absolutely, gay.
Valentino’s latest biographer – Zumaya – shreds these lies and misconceptions to smithereens. She shows that what has passed for fact requires extreme suspensions of disbelief to embrace the notion of a homosexual Valentino.
The latest period of Valentino biography begins the period of scholarly study in which Valentino’s entire life is examined – not just the sexual aspects – and are done with bibliographical sourcing. With evidence in hand, authors have drawn more realistic and factual portraits of Valentino which assess him as a person and a man of his times. Zumaya easily is the gold standard in this respect.
Although we have no specific interest in Valentino, we were fascinated by the myths surrounding him and the newly discovered case that he indeed left a son, Jean, who eventually came to live permanently in America, taking up a career as a sound engineer.
We tip our hats to Zumaya who has contributed to the truth about an historic film personage and hope that she is able to publish her book again after cooler heads prevail.

Against Them and Colin Powell

One of the more astonishing revelations from Tegan Mathis’ Against Them is the allegation that Colin Powell was the assassin who shot Kennedy in the back from the Texas Book School Depository in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963. But is there any truth to the story about Powell?
The short answer to the question is that much more research is required. The longer answer is that such a narrative about Colin Powell barely has enough basis in fact to justify the research – hanging on a threadbare tease of a rope.
For those who have not read the book or our review of it, Mathis decodes Lynne Cheney’s Executive Privilege, written in 1979, which tells the details about Watergate and the Kennedy assassination through the filter of a bad novel laden with clues which only certain cognoscenti would understand.
In decoding the clues, Mathis concluded that one character, Harold Stark, is a representation of Colin Powell. Stark was a protégé of Robert Boyston who represents Caspar Weinberger who was the Shadow Government vice president. This relationship became our point of departure in our attempt to validate the factual basis of Lynne Cheney’s story.
Keep in mind that we allow for the possibility that Cheney told fractured fairy tales or created a time bomb to confuse future historians who might get too close to the truth.
Starting in 1976, Cheney spent the next 3 years writing the book which saw publication in 1979. Perhaps her husband’s years in the political wilderness gave her time to whip up a bad novel, but it was also a time well before Watergate reached its half life and before many of the names to become big during the 1980s and beyond were of any prominence. Two of those names were Caspar Weinberger and Colin Powell.
Cheney’s book, although set in the future, is allegedly a retrospective look at the Nixon years, with special focus on 1971 – 74 – according to Mathis’ telling of it. During this time both Weinberger and Powell were indeed in the White House. Weinberger was a California man, as were his bosses Nixon and Reagan, who came to serve as Director of Office of Management and Budget from June 12, 1972 – February 1, 1973. Unless you are David Stockman, the position is usually an obscure mid level White House position.
At the same time, Colin Powell came to the White House as a Lieutenant Colonel in the White House Fellow program whose 1972 class term began in September and ran for a year. Weinberger would be promoted to Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare (February 12, 1973 – August 8, 1975). But for the purposes of our analysis, the period of interest is their overlap at the White House where Powell was assigned to OMB.
Thus it is clear that Weinberger and Powell worked together in the White House as Mathis says Cheney says in her novel. But that period lasted a mere 5 months, a period of time which seems too scant to accomplish anything of substance as implied by the Mathis interpretation.
When Cheney began her book in 1976, Weinberger was out of the public eye while Powell was never in it. But his star was on the rise quite literally the same year of Executive Privilege’s publication in 1979 – the year he was made a Brigadier General. Weinberger was in California doing whatever former bureaucrats do there.
The point is this – Lynne Cheney knew a lot about two relatively obscure men – even by DC gossip standards – in 1976. It would be unusual for a White House Fellow to make any impression on a bureaucrat’s wife 4 – 7 years after his departure from the president’s mansion. Thus the events provide a thin patina of plausibility to Mathis' thesis.
From this we conclude that Cheney had excellent inside information and may well have socialized with the Powells – although to hear Mathis tell it, Cheney is an impenitent racist. Her access to recondite knowledge substantiates the authority from which she wrote and thus lends credence to the details she relates about the two men and their relationship.  But to interpolate this inside information into a true confession about the true unfolding of Watergate stretches credulity.
Given the relatively short period of time Weinberger and Powell were in the OMB, their close relationship which Cheney describes would require significant prior development.
The bigger problem with Weinberger being the sponsor of Watergate is its enormity and timing. We believe that the scandal was too large and complex to be the work of Weinberger and a ragtag group of bureaucrats in the White House. Where in God’s good name would a Director of OMB get the time and authority to orchestrate the Watergate assassination? It would require much more in Weinberger’s portfolio than we can possibly know.
The other problem with assigning responsibility to Weinberger is its improbability. OMB is generally not a power center, so we find it a bit absurd that the alleged Shadow Vice President would assume his Clark Kent persona under that guise.
What we know of the two men seems to preclude their collaboration or involvement with anything so grand as the Bush Crime Syndicate’s Watergate conspiracy.
As for Powell, other problems in the timeline emerge with respect to the Kennedy assassination. Specifically, we refer to his tour of duty in Vietnam from 1962 – 1963. The best evidence we were able to marshal shows Powell in Vietnam from December 25, 1962 to November 22/23, 1963, leaving little or no time to be in Dallas for a murder of the president.
This in no way exonerates Powell who was sent to Vietnam to whitewash My Lai and other civilian butcherings by the CIA and US Army.
If someone were to prove that Powell was in the TSBD window shooting at the president, he would need to show that Powell was in the Dallas on or prior to 12:30p on November 22, 1963. As of now, the best evidence fails to support Mathis’ interpretation of Cheney.
But that is a minimal standard since executing a complex operation of murdering the president would require significant training with the principals.
Assuming that we are correct about Powell, and assuming that Mathis is generally correct about the Cheney novel, then our alternative explanation of Executive Privilege as a fractured fairy tale or parlor game for certain cognoscenti makes sense.
Given Mathis' near anonymity it is quite possible that he is a spook on a disinformation campaign.

First Impressions: Against Them

If you are looking for a revisionist, iconoclastic version of Watergate and the Kennedy presidential assassination, Against Them by Tegan Mathis will fit bill quite nicely – and perhaps a bit too well.

The basic premise of Against Them is that Lynne Cheney wrote an awful novel, Executive Privilege, in 1979 which reveals cryptographically the true story of Watergate and to a less extent some details about the Kennedy assassination. Mathis then proceeds to translate the glyphs into intelligible text.
We welcome the book to a degree, but also question its bonafides. For example, although the book has the appearances of a standard publication, closer inspection reveals many omissions, not the least of which is the name of the publisher. Therefore we assume that the book is self published by the author, and we can imagine a number of reasons for this, such as fear by an establishment publisher of association with such a controversial – if not fringe – book.
Another omission is the routine author biography drivel found on most books. The book contains absolutely no biographical information about its author leaving us to speculate wildly about his background, motives, and competencies – to say nothing of his basic identity.
In fact, an internet search, a favorite tool of the author (and ours), reveals no information on Mathis – he is a cipher.
Another interesting aspect about the book is that it was “made” the day after I ordered it and shipped the day following printing. One cannot find the book in any bookstores. It appears that just-in-time publishing has come into its own.
The book relies on a limited bibliography which seems fitting for its analysis of a novel. But the novel deals with historic events and connections for which we would expect more documentation. Finally the index is nominal listing only a few key names in only single instances. It would seem to us that Microsoft Word could have produced a more substantive index, but maybe that was too much trouble.
Finally, we would propose that the author / editor do another revision of the manuscript as it still contains a few grammatical errors.
In more substantive terms, the book comes across as a partisan hack – and we say that as folks who are very sympathetic with either the philosophical or factual aspects of the book. For example, Mathis takes aim at Neocons and Republicans while claiming that a virtuous Democrat party will send George Bush, Jr. to prison for life.
We would love to see George Bush – along with his father - put away for life, or tortured in the way his thugs tortured innocent people at Abu Graihb, but to think that the Democrat party, which installed an Indonesian citizen in the White House who lies as shamelessly as George Bush, is going to send anyone to jail is a preposterous naivety. In any event, the book will alienate Republican partisans just at the time when the sordid truth about American history needs to be told without partisan baggage. In this respect Mathis comes across as the Sean Hannity of the Left.
On the other hand, we applaud Mathis for exposing the Neocons and their Nazi heritage as well as their butt boys in the press, and even Lyndon Johnson who could make a snake oil salesman look respectable. And at all points, we agree with Mathis that a cabal of Nazis migrated from Germany in 1945 to set up shop in the USA under the protection of powerful Wall Street plutocrats – eg. Prescott Bush and Averell Harriman – as executed by their private army the CIA.
The book has two levels of semantics – the main text about the protagonist Zern Jenner who is president of the United States seeking psychiatric treatment while concealing the fact - and the subtext about the events of Watergate and, to use Richard Nixon’s euphemism, “the whole Bay of Pigs thing.”
But there, the clarity ends, and the complexity begins. In fact, we could not help, while reading, recalling the scene in A Beautiful Mind where the door opens to John Nash’s office revealing a mind boggling collage of articles, lists, and notes  of published information with paragraphs cut out, circled, highlighted and connected together with string and arrows in an attempt to untangle a hair ball the size of Montana.
So our hero, Tegan Mathis, assumes his best John Nash persona to decipher the novel written by Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Richard Cheney. We are not using the Nash allegory as a pejorative but warn readers that they will encounter a maze of tactics to unravel the hidden code.
The books sketches Mathis’ unmasking of the cryptic characters, an exercise which begins the book with the decryption of Deep Throat, the famous device Washington Post reporters Woodward and Bernstein (a husband and wife team in Executive Privilege)  used to conceal the identity of their informant.
Woodward, an avid anagram fan, invented the name Deep Throat as R Dep To The A – Richard, Deputy to the Assistant as in Richard Cheney Deputy to the Assistant Donald Rumsfeld. Mathis rightly notes that Mark Felt as Deep Throat is a pile of horse manure and another example of Woodward’s many deceptions.
Watergate, we are told, was a power struggle between two Shadow Government factions attempting to control the United States and the world. The various players - household names to political junkies - include such luminaries as Alexander Haig, Richard Cheney, Henry Kissinger, Thomas Moorer, Richard Nixon, Edward Kennedy, Donald Rumsfeld, Bob Woodward, and many other staples of 1960s and 1970s politics, including many who survived into the 21st century with power fully intact.
Thus Nixon was caught in the crossfire of two conflicting, but ultimately sympathetic sects who seek world dominion by different means. In Mathis’ telling of Cheney, Al Haig is the defacto president of the United States with Caspar Weinberger as his Vice President. Weinberger and his faction feel cheated out of decision making, so he stages Watergate to force Haig to give him a piece of the action.
The Watergate burglars unfortunately are careless, leading a trail from the burglars to E Howard Hunt, then Haig then Weinberger and then Dealey Plaza. So a great deal of intrigue is required to bring the crisis under control because any leakage of truth about Kennedy would result in the collapse of the Shadow Government, to say nothing of jail time for its perpetrators.
The story is bizarre and we suppose that Cheney took literary license with the truth even though she probably revealed a great deal if not more so than she ever imagined. In other words, we believe that Mathis has told some fundamental truths about the two stories – Watergate and Kennedy - although we may part company with him at certain details and points of substance.
For example, we are not sold on Pope John VI as the eminence grise who finally pulled the plug on Nixon. We are also incredulous at the idea of Alexander Haig as Shadow President although we do not doubt the vast powers he wielded during the stormy years of Nixon’s presidency.
We do believe that Nixon was a pawn in a great power struggle and had nothing to do with the staged break-in at the Democratic National Headquarters, and we also believe that the men and women in the story are profoundly evil people who hate mankind in general and are Nazis in the truest sense of the word – once you understand that Wall Street invented Nazism.
We do believe that some difficult subjects require further research – especially that of Richard Perle spying on the USA for Israel with Haig’s approval. Perle, of course, is one of the architects of the Project for a New American Century who played prominently in the Bush, jr. White House and the decisions leading to the invasions following 9/11. Here Mathis reveals the alliance of Zionist Jews with Nazis – a subject which most people would find mind boggling – but something which we believe is most plausible and compelling.
Mathis reveals Bob Woodward as the CIA / Bush Crime Syndicate spy that he is – a man who appears at many critical junctures in history – including 1973 Chile, Watergate, and 9/11 to mention but a few. I am sure that fellow spook Ben Bradlee had much to do with nurturing Woodward at the Washington Post in his covert position as reporter.
Other significant revelations center on Colin Powell, Al Haig, and Henry Kissinger who were all in Dealey Plaza participating in the murder of John Kennedy. Powell was the assassin who shot Kennedy in the back from the Texas School Book Depository, while Haig and Kissinger were on the ground signaling the assassins when to shoot.
Unfortunately, little mention is made of George Bush, Sr and Edward Lansdale who were pivotal ground players in the assassination. This omission is another example of why we hold some of the information in Mathis’ telling at a distance. But the fault may not be so much with Mathis as with Cheney who no doubt protected key players in her partial telling of the murder tales.
One of the most egregious absences from both books is that of John Dean, a man nearly as treacherous as Bob Woodward. Omitting him is like trying to understand the Civil War without knowing that slavery existed in the South.
As we have already stated, Mathis outlines basic themes which we can fully endorse and smaller ones and particular details which we question or hold in suspense until other facts can corroborate them.
One possibility which Mathis did not explore, but which we hold as viable, is that Cheney indeed used inside information to write a novel about history with many facts changed to communicate knowingly with an inside clique. It could have been her sense of humor.
We consider this possibility because many of the facts presented by Mathis do not add up in a way to allow the many interpretations and conclusions he draws. We will explore one of those – the Weinberger – Powell relationship in a future posting.

Finally, it is entirely possible that Executive Privilege was a time bomb, a back-up plan to retroactively contaminate the corpus of truth with more CIA sponsored lies about American history in the event that historians or researchers go too close to the truth.
Clearly Mathis has presented some important truths in his interpretations – such as Nixon being caught in a power struggle which he neither understood nor could control. But configuring the characters at the times and places required for certain conclusions becomes improbable at points, making this book more of a parlor game than an historical analysis. Nevertheless, if research proves otherwise, we will extend our mea culpa.

Was the Zapruder Film Altered?

The famous Zapruder film which captured the horror of an American president being murdered by a cabal of Wall Street plutocrats has been the subject of much controversy regarding its integrity. Regardless of the final resolution of that debate, it doesn’t really matter.
Abraham Zapruder (1905 – 1970) was allegedly the innocent bystander who just happened to have an 8mm Bell & Howell portable movie camera with him on the day that President John Kennedy was murdered in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963. His ultimate film noir recorded for history the very moments when the assassins’ bullets ended the life of the president.
We do not believe that Zapruder was an innocent bystander. In fact we believe that he was hired – either directly or indirectly – to film the murder for the sick benefit of his pay masters. Zapruder owned a women’s clothing manufacturing firm which operated in the vicinity of Dealey Plaza. He was an extreme right wing ideologue who ran in the same circles as George DeMohrenschildt, another Russian émigré who shepherded Oswald to his job in the Texas School Book Depository.
This community of White Russians were strongly hostile to Kennedy because they viewed him as soft on communism.
Henry Luce’s Life magazine purchased the film in order to sequester it and to extract photos from it supporting the Lone Nut theory of the assassination.  When the film surfaced a few years later, its content shocked the world.
Prior to the film’s sequestration, a few people who saw the film were advised to keep their mouths shut when they protested that the film did not support the official Warren Commission Report. Luce, who was a hostile critic of the President and warned him of dire consequences due to his handling of the steel crisis, was undoubtedly happy to serve as custodian for the film.
The problem with the film is that it clearly shows fire from the front of the president’s limousine and therefore demolishes the Lone Nut and Single Bullet Theories.
The film’s long residency in the vault of Life magazine provides the background for the conspiracy theories – and we do not use the term pejoratively – that the film was altered. However, it is the film’s jerky quality which provides the real motivation for the theory. So when you marry the two facts together, it is easy to see how someone would consider a conspiracy to alter the film.
For our part, we believe that the video was slightly altered to show that the limousine did not come to a full stop. Many eye witnesses have testified that the driver completely stopped the car or brought it to a virtual stop. The reason for this, as we explained elsewhere, is so that the assassins could have the ideal frame for guaranteeing Kennedy's murder.
The alterations provided the Secret Service a plausible defense against charges that it participated in the murder of the president - something which it most certainly did.
But why did the murderers want a film of their wicked deeds? Beyond the macabre satisfaction of seeing the man they hated murdered, they needed a record of the event in order to know how to lie about the facts, to identify potentially troublesome witnesses, and to have a lessons learned record to plan future murders. Indeed, the FBI and Army Delta Force which murdered Martin Luther King, Jr. also filmed his assassination.
For these reasons, we believe that the Zapruder film is largely intact. Even with the minor modification we allow, it is largely irrelevant whether the film has been altered because it clearly shows that the president was murdered from the grassy knoll or another spot from the front of the president’s limousine.
