Although Mrs O'Leary's cow took a great deal of heat for the great Chicago fire of 1871, it has long been known among certain circles that a comet was the culprit of the massive conflagration which engulfed not only Chicago, but also vast areas in Michigan and Wisconsin at precisely the same time.
