The Adele Edisen Story and the Murder of John Kennedy

Adele Edisen is not a name commonly found in Kennedy assassination histories, but her story is fascinating nonetheless, she being a proleptic witness to the murder of John Kennedy in Dallas' Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963.

Like Rose Cheramie, Edisen received pre-assassination warnings when she had an encounter with an enigmatic figure named Jose Albert Rivera who made cryptic predictions about Kennedy's murder, and all too accurate predictions about Lee HARVEY Oswald and Edward Grant Stockdale.

Before plunging into the story, we should address some of the objections or apprehensions many have registered about her tale, the common one being that she does not have smoking gun evidence of her encounters with Rivera. Defenders note that her mind was sharp and lucid during interviews, and that files have since surfaced corroborating parts of her story. 

Our view is that she is telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. No one has found evidence to rebut or falsify her story - merely potential objections without substance. William Perry, one of her chroniclers, satisfied himself through independent corroboration that her account is trustworthy, based in part on other researchers' independent verifications of the story's details.

The following summary of her experience is condensed from William Perry's article which we reference below, and to which we add our own commentary. In many ways Adele's revelations are explosive.

Edisen held a post-doctoral fellowship at the  National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness in 1963 in New Orleans, the very place where Kennedy murder conspirator Alton Ochsner worked at Tulane University, and the very city where CIA contract employee Lee HARVERY Oswald was stationed in 1963.

Rivera had ties to New Orleans as well, having been a faculty member of the Loyola University biochemistry department. He subsequently lived in Washington, DC. But his career included much more than academics, for he joined the US Army in 1948, retiring in 1965. His obituary claims that he joined in 1942, but we favor the former date for reasons to develop elsewhere.

His birth date is a bit of a mystery, with different dates provided depending upon the government file consulted. However, one researcher, Tom Scully, found his birth certificate which records his birth in 1898 in Lima, Peru. But why all of the birth dates which typically have him born anywhere from 1905-11? And why the discrepancies on his military service?

Edisen and Rivera met at a professional convention in Atlantic City in April 1963 from which a social relationship of brief duration ensued. During one visit, the subject of Dallas came up at which point Rivera encouraged her to visit the Carousel Club managed by soon-to-be famous Jack Ruby. Rivera also asked if she knew Lee Oswald whom he encouraged her to meet. He knew all about his wife, child, and move to New Orleans even if Oswald himself did not know about it. Later, when urging Edisen to call Oswald, he told her to tell him to "kill the chief."

During the visit, Edisen also found out that Rivera was a colonel in the army doing work for the State Department. While driving around Washington on a site seeing tour, Rivera asked what Jackie would do when Jack dies, a question which startled Edisen. He also knew about her pregnancy although Edisen did not, indicating that neither did the general public know. Rivera also asked his guest if she had seen Caroline on her pony. In general, Rivera expressed negative or hostile attitudes towards Kennedy.

During another dinner, Rivera asked Edisen if she knew John Abt, chief counsel for the Communist Party USA. Abt would be the lawyer whom Oswald would attempt to reach when jailed falsely for the murders of President Kennedy and JD Tippit. Abt himself is almost a footnote in the JFK drama, but Rivera was plugged into him and his future role at an early date, telling Edisen that Oswald would call him for defense.

Following his preview of John Abt, Rivera proceeded to inform his dinner companion that Grant Stockdale, the one-time ambassador to Ireland, and some-time fundraiser for Kennedy, would kill himself due to inconsolable grief. Rivera showed extraordinary powers of clairvoyance to say the very least.

When Adele returned to New Orleans, she called Oswald thinking that he was a research colleague of Rivera's. The first time she called, the man answering the phone said that she must have the wrong number. A week later, the same man said to wait a moment - he was just arriving. In Oswald's absence, she spoke with his wife Marina whom she described as having a Slavic-Russian accent, and who understood the conversation, then told her she was welcome to call back later when her husband was present. The most interesting fact of this conversation is that Marina could speak and understand English, a point we have made before which contradicts many of the popular and CIA based stories lying about Oswald's wife's inability to speak English.

Even more interesting than confirmation that Marina was rather fluent in English is the fact that Rivera had given Edisen Oswald's phone number before he had moved to New Orleans or had even found a place to live. We will return to this item in our conclusion.

One interesting item we learn from Perry's recounting is that Oswald used Sgt Robert Hidell as a reference on his application to CIA front company William B Reilly. This last name would show up again in connection with his post office box, and with identification found in his planted wallet at the Tippit scene with the name Alek Hidell.

Edisen saw Rivera one more time when he was on business at Louisiana State University. The encounter was by chance - at least from Edisen's point of view. There was nothing but a clumsy passing interaction between the two near an elevator. Rivera allegedly retired from the military in 1965, and allegedly died August 15, 1989 at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

One month prior to encountering Rivera at LSU, Adele received an unmarked envelope containing a drawing similar to one Rivera drew for her while they dined together in Washington. Rivera was in a near frenetic state at the time but made the point that there will be men on the 5th floor of the building he drew on the napkin, and that Oswald is not what he seems, and other incoherent thoughts. The 5th floor is actually where the shots from the Texas School Book Depository were fired, or where significant command and control operations occurred.

To conclude the recitation of events, we will note that Edisen contacted the Secret Service about these strange events and encounters - twice before the assassination, and once after. In no case did the Secret Service take any actions to follow-up on her reports, or to protect the president. Indeed, the Secret Service was involved in the assassination.

Edisen's story is extraordinary in several ways. One of the more curious aspects is that Rivera bothered to share specific details with Edisen. They were dangerous to reveal if for no other reason than exposing the plan to assassinate the president could have brought a lot of unpleasant publicity for the conspirators. Unfortunately, at the time, Rivera's babblings sounded senseless. And why would one of the conspirators reveal the plans to a stranger?

The only explanation which makes sense to me is that CIA was conducting a systems check to make sure that there were no leaks in the formal bureaucracies which might compromise their plans. In other words, they had to be sure that there were no inter-agency cooperations in following up assassination tips and that all information was dutifully scrubbed from the records so that the murder cover-up would succeed.

The common belief, expressed in his CIA-Wikipedia article, is that Grant Stockdale committed suicide. This vignette with Rivera tells us clearly that he was murdered when the assassins pushed him out of the window of his hotel room. Rivera's foreknowledge of this event and its public explanation is the smoking gun that he was murdered.

We also learn that Oswald was indeed the patsy. His movements were so controlled that Rivera could state where he would be before Oswald could. We also see the co-conspiracy of the vile Ruth Hyde Paine who was an important handler of Oswald.

The fact that Oswald's telephone number was being answered by the apartment owner shows the collusion between him and the conspirators.

Perhaps the most enlightening disclosure in this affair is the complete, total, and minute control CIA had over the entire operation, including the creepy observations by Rivera of Jackie's baby and Caroline's pony. 

Anyone who has managed large organizations or projects knows that goals and work do not happen by accident. The amount of managerial  and logistical support required to murder a president of the United States was epically enormous. It involved a massive apparatus from several countries, the most important of which were the United Kingdom, Israel and International Jewry, and the United States. 

One final point regarding Oswald - he may have been mind controlled. Edisen raises the suggestion that Rivera may have tried to poison her with LSD, and this would be entirely unsurprising given CIA's deep investment in MK Ultra.

While Adele Edisen's story is generally a detail in the vast knowledge we now have about the murder of Kennedy, it is our opinion that it may rise to the top as one of the most important because it reveals the scope and breadth of the planning which attended the assassination long before its execution. The only question now is, how long before April 1963 was the assassination planned?

What's With All the Russian?

One curiosity in the Oswald case which has recently caught our attention is the large amount of Russian language spoken among Oswald and his closest associates. We do not yet know what to make of it, but we will draw the picture to encourage additional thought.

First let us deal with Lee HARVEY Oswald, the man accused of murdering President Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dallas' Dealey Plaza. We accept the idea that there were more than one Oswald, quite possibly up to 4 significant Oswalds. There is the one just mentioned; the one who impersonated HARVEY in the Texas Theater and elsewhere also known as LEE using John Armstrong's convention; one who allegedly spoke with Patricia McMillan at the hotel where Oswald stayed in Moscow, and one whom we believe returned to the US with Marina in 1962.

(As we have argued elsewhere, we do not believe that HARVEY went to the USSR.)

The significant issue at the moment is not how many Oswalds we can count, but the fact that HARVEY could speak fluent native Russian. James Norwood provides strong evidence including contemporary documentary support that HARVEY's command of Russian was superb, and that he read difficult Russian works in a language already known for its difficulty.

We quickly note that LEE couldn't speak of lick of Russian to save his broken tooth which is why there are conflicting reports about "Oswald's" ability to speak Russian.

While in the US, HARVEY did not hide his Russian speaking abilities before fake-defecting to the USSR, but while in the Soviet Union he feigned complete ignorance, and made only token advances in learning the language during his 2 1/2 year stay.

When Oswald returned to the US, he brought with him his new wife Marina who quite obviously spoke Russian. She pretended not to understand English, but this was clearly a ruse. Researchers such as Armstrong have shown how she was able to negotiate complex contracts written in English.

One of Oswald's early handlers was George De Mohrenschildt, also a good friend of George Bush, who spoke Russian natively, and would most frequently converse with Oswald in Russian.

Finally, we have the vile Ruth Hyde Paine who was extremely proficient in Russian, long before she made the fake claim that she wanted Marina to live with her so that she could improve her Russian. So in Dallas, when Marina was living with Paine, and on occasions when HARVEY spent time there, Paine was hosting a house full of fluent Russian speaking spooks.

We are not suggesting that the ubiquity of Russian was a sign of Soviet intelligence work. But we are asking why this language was prevalent among these intelligence agents and operatives. Was it to speak in a language which neighbors could probably not understand when discussing CIA work? Was Ruth Hyde Paine Oswald's handler? Did everyone know that everyone else in this cozy confab spoke excellent Russian and worked for the CIA?

We have surmised previously that Paine was assigned to Oswald to keep an eye on Marina so that she could observe any of her Russian conversations, and likewise for HARVEY.

Nevertheless, we feel as though we are still dancing around the issue, and that the Russian language characteristic indicates something more than we currently know.

Did Marina Oswald Speak English?

The news media and Warren Commission fostered the unquestioned presumption that Marina Oswald did not speak English at the time of her interrogations immediately following the murder of John Kennedy by the CIA in Dallas' Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963. The evidence points to her mastery of English, a fact she hid to play the helpless damsel in distress.

John Armstrong has made a convincing case that Marina Oswald, the wife of Lee HARVEY Oswald, spoke English very well. He draws upon photographs annotated in her hand, and her handling of contract negotiations in English. We would like to present a few more pieces of evidence that she spoke and wrote English well.

The government-news media story was that Marina barely knew any English, in part because the brute Lee HARVEY Oswald wanted to keep his wife barefoot, dumb, and pregnant.

In the early days of the fake investigation conducted by the FBI of Kennedy's murder, a translator was always brought to the interviews of Marina. By February the investigation notes explicitly state the interviews were conducted in English, begging us to conclude that within 2 months of the murder, Marina suddenly developed enough competency in English to forgo the translators. The reality is that she knew English long before suddenly speaking in English tongues in February.

One of the evidences for Marina's proficiency is a letter by Robert Oswald, HARVEY's alleged brother, in which he described a number of interactions between Marina and other people who did not speak Russian. For example he documents an affair between her and John Martin, the assistant manger of the Inn of Six Flags, which would not have been possible without the 2 people being able to speak English. Armstrong in fact reports Martin as stating that Marina spoke English very well.

At the end of the affair in February, Robert walked into his house, where Marina was staying, at the tail end of a telephone conversation between her, John, and his wife in which Marina, under Robert's direction, ended the affair. According to Robert, the affair occurred from November 1963 to February 1964. It is inconceivable that the telephone conversation could occur without all parties being able to speak English, a fact Martin has already confirmed.

Another interview session of Marina by the FBI covered the allegations that HARVEY was in Mexico City, something which Marina said she knew about from watching television, another indicator that her English was quite good.

A final bit of evidence we offer is her association with Robert Webster, a Rand Corporation plastics specialist who fake-defected to the Soviet Union 2 weeks before Oswald, and who re-entered the US 2 weeks before Oswald. Webster stated that he knew Marina although the latter denied it. Unfortunately she made a Freudian slip of sorts when she told a Russian friend that her husband was in the USSR for a trade show, precisely the circumstances under which Webster was in the USSR. It is well known that HARVEY was not on a trade show mission, and therefore that Marina knew Webster.

Since Webster did not speak Russian, and evidence exists that Marina met with Webster in the USSR in Leningrad and in Moscow, it was necessary for Marina to have good English skills to communicate with Webster in what A J Weberman called an espionage ring operated by the CIA.

Many other small details of the story fabricated by the US insurgents who took over the government in 1963 give convincing proofs that Marina Oswald knew and spoke English, and quite well at that.

The significance of this revelation - though by no means new - is that Marina and the government were deceiving us when they pretended that she knew no English. It also confirms the probability that Marina was a spy, but for whose side was she working? We will address that subject soon enough.

The Role of Ruth Paine in the Murder of President Kennedy

Whatever worthy cause, whatever noble endeavor, whatever good deed Ruth Paine may have done in later years to expiate for her misdeeds in the crime of the century, the woman is evil incarnate, being a principal agent who maligned and framed Lee Oswald as the murderer of President Kennedy.

 

Ruth Paine has a long career as a CIA asset who has long done the agency's business, starting at least with her involvement with the Oswalds in 1962-63. Acting as a spy on spies, she kept tabs on Marina Oswald, who had come to the US as the new wife of CIA agent Lee Oswald.

 

Following her betrayal of both Marina and Lee, she often went overseas under the guise of a social or humanitarian worker who snooped around to keep her contacts in the CIA informed of the businesses of foreign peoples. USAID is a well known CIA front organization which often works alongside “missionary” organizations to conduct intelligence operations.

 

Paine also worked with her ex-husband Michael to frame Lee. In 1963, writing from Washington, DC where she spent the summer, she informed the Oswalds that Marina could stay with her after she returned from New Orleans, and that she would pay for her living and hospital expenses. The quo of the quid was that Marina would teach Ruth Russian, but this too is misleading as Paine knew Russian already and was spying on Marina for CIA.

 

When Paine appeared before the Warren Commission, she presented Lee as a deadbeat who had essentially abandoned his wife. This was not the case, but the truth is far more complicated than most folks know.

 

Lee kept his wife isolated because he did not want her learning English due to her associations with the USSR and KGB. The less Marina knew in the very Cold War world of the early 1960s, the better. The real problem is that Lee was at risk of losing his child, whom he loved dearly, should Marina be deported back to the USSR. Therefore a very low profile with minimal suspicions was the order of the day.

 

As we have explained elsewhere, James Angleton was determined to murder Lee because in his book Lee was compromised goods. Oswald had been a trusted false defector in the USSR, something which Angleton never trusted. Angleton himself was as corrupt as Judas, but we save that story for another day.

 

Paine also came to the rescue for the Warren Commission by falsely claiming that Lee’s Minox camera was hers or Michael’s. The camera was most emphatically Lee’s as he was a superb photographer who worked in a very sensitive photographic assignment during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

 

The problem with the Minox, an advanced camera at the time used in spy operations due to its compact form, was that it did not comport well with the Lone Nut Theory. What was a lone nut doing with a Minox camera? Could it be because he was an intelligence agent?

 

If there were any doubt that Ruth Paine and her husband helped frame an innocent man, we refer our dear reader to the taped telephone conversation between Ruth and Michael where one tells the other on the day of the assassination that they know who murdered the President and it was not Lee. That of course did not prevent Ruth from giving false or misleading testimony about Lee to the Warren Commission whose job was to cover up the crime by framing a patsy.

 

If there were any doubt that Paine was involved in the frame-up, there are a couple of closing considerations. After November 22, 1963, Marina Oswald never again spoke with Ruth Paine, who to that point had been considered a dear friend. The other point is that Ruth bought up at least 4 homes after the murder with funds which came from who knows where. Prior to these purchases Paine had lived very modestly in a ranch house in the Dallas area.

 

Ruth Paine should be a person of interest in the crime of the century. She knows far more than she ever admits, and what she does admit is a lie.

The Making of a Patsy

One of the fundamental truths of the murder of John Kennedy in Dallas’ Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963 came on that very day from Lee Oswald when he proclaimed, “I am just a patsy.”

 

Even those believing that Oswald was innocent do not realize how early the story began. When Lee Oswald returned from the Soviet Union with a Russian bride after his fake defector operation ended, Central Intelligence Agency counter intelligence chief James Angleton feared that Oswald had been compromised by the daughter of a high ranking military/KGB official. We accept the idea that Marina, Oswald’s new wife, was a KGB agent. We do not believe that Oswald had been compromised so much as the KGB could see through the CIA’s paper thin intelligence stunt.

 

Nonetheless Angleton feared that US intelligence secrets had been compromised. That Angleton himself was a mole for the KGB and/or Mossad is an entirely different story, but there is no other way to explain the colossal failures of Angleton in regards to Kim Philby and other Soviet spies who had penetrated the CIA. On the other hand, all of the spy biz was *wink* *wink* any way.

 

Playing counter intelligence chief, Angleton devised a plan to murder Oswald. The game was labyrinthine to say the least, but Oswald was targeted for total elimination. Oswald sealed his own death warrant when he reported to the FBI in November of 1963 that Kennedy was the target of an assassination attempt in Chicago. We believe that the Chicago episode was merely a stratagem for flushing out Oswald.

 

At 1:40 PM on November 22, 1963, the White House situation room released the “news” that the murderer had been identified and that it was Lee Oswald. Heading the cabal of murderers in the White House was McGeorge Bundy who had sabotaged the president during the Bay of Pigs scam of Allan Dulles and other CIA hoodlums who were attempting to embarrass the new president.

 

Please note that merely 10 minutes after the murder, the White House was releasing information that it had solved the case. Would someone explain how a group of bureaucrats 1200 miles away from the scene of the crime could possibly know who murdered the president? The criminal Dallas Police Department didn’t even have enough evidence to charge Oswald with either Tippit’s or Kennedy’s murder which is one reason he was held in custody so long without charge. They were in the process of creating trumped up charges but didn’t know exactly how to do it without seeming so corrupt.

 

Thus we have Bundy and his vipers proclaiming Oswald guilty 10 minutes after the murder while the DPD dithered to get on message, stymied only for lack of evidence. It gets even better. Col Fletcher Prouty who had close ties with the CIA, was on mission in Antarctica at the time of the murder and came across a newspaper in Christ Church New Zealand – when he was there – announcing that Oswald had murdered the president – but it was the day before Kennedy was murdered!

 

The fix was in, as they say. But no conspiracy would be complete without the imprimatur of the FBI Director, J Edgar Hoover, who would go on to murder the “Nigger” Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968. “Nigger” was Hoover’s favorite name for King. Hoover announced to Robert Kennedy at 4p on November 22 that Oswald had been identified as the murderer, and that the case was closed. It didn’t matter that Hoover, as Gerald McKnight reports in his book, didn’t even understand the basic facts of the case. But as a member of the conspirators who murdered the president, he proclaimed, even as the DPD had no evidence, that the case was solved, and we could all go home. And it was 4p – just in time for the 5 o’clock news, when the bubble headed bleach blonde comes on – with a gleam in her eye.

 

Afterwards, Johnson convened the corrupt Warren Commission to rubber stamp the FBI report, so that we could go about burying the guilt of the murderers, and move on Viet Nam and the drug trade.

 

To assist with this plot, Eugene Rostow, dean of Yale Law School, Nicholas Katzenbach, acting Attorney General, and Bill Moyers, press secretary for Johnson and Bildeberger member, conspired to propagate the myth that Oswald had committed the crime, and took extreme measures to shut down independent investigations into their and their bosses' crimes.

 

We have reported previously that Katzenbach drafted his famous memo of November 25 proclaiming that Oswald was guilty and that the American people must be convinced that he was so. No trial, no investigation, and no facts - just pure fantasy and lies to cover up their own crimes and to protect the murderers.

 

Oswald spake sooth – he was the patsy. He committed no crime. His murderers wore grey suits, drank expensive wines, and lived lifestyles of the rich and famous.
